Three colonies artificially swarmed.  One passed on to a new beekeeper, and two new colonies retained.<\/p>\n<p>One of the main problems at this time of year is keeping up with the need for equipment. Of course in an ideal world I would simply turn to my ready made stack of brood boxes, fill them with frames I constructed over the winter and head out.<\/p>\n<p>In practice I have been playing &#8216;catch-up&#8217; and making frames up late at night.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stpegashoney.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/20140501-223552.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stpegashoney.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/20140501-223552.jpg\" alt=\"20140501-223552.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>So repeat after me, &#8220;next year I will be more organised &#8230;.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well the last few weeks have been eventful.
